Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Senator Jeff Merkley (R-OR) recently introduced the Breastfeeding Promotion Act (H.R. 2819/S.1244). The bill supports employers and nursing moms by providing tax incentives to businesses that provide lacation rooms; requiring employers to make reasonable efforts to provide time and space to express milk; protecting breastfeeding women from discrimination in the workplace; and allowing families to deduct the cost of breastfeeding equipment on their taxes. * Urge Congress to support the Breastfeeding Promotion Act!
