We are working to bring more protections to pregnant workers so women don’t have to go broke or jeopardize their health by starting a family. Our legislators need to hear your story!
We know that pregnant women sometimes have a tough time on the job. Did you ever have to quit your job (or were you fired) because you needed help due to your pregnancy? Maybe you needed to rest every few hours, or eat snacks to keep you from fainting, or perhaps your doctor gave you lifting restrictions. Sound familiar? Some women just need a stool to sit on, more frequent restroom breaks, to carry a water bottle, or a new uniform. Others need a reasonable amount of time off just to recover from childbirth.
New legislation at the state and federal level would ensure that pregnant workers are able to stay on the job when they only need minor workplace adjustments—closing a major legal loophole.
We need to hear your story. We will always keep your name and the name of your employer confidential unless we get your permission to share them. Let your voice be heard while helping pregnant women stay healthy and on the job.
