Today, alongside NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice, we delivered a letter to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer from over 110 New York faith leaders, urging a vote on the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act without delay, in furtherance of his longstanding commitment to women’s rights, maternal health, and racial justice.
The signees represent a broad array of religious beliefs and faith traditions across New York. They write: “Supporting pregnant and postpartum workers is a matter of religious, moral, and ethical concern…[f]ailing to bring the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act to a vote would be a moral failing.” Read the full letter here.
