Board member Takirah Woods is a former ABB client who was inspired to use her voice to bring about change as an ABB Community Advocate. She has fearlessly shared her personal experience of pregnancy discrimination with members of Congress and the public through a powerful Op-Ed published in Ms. Magazine, motivated by a desire to ensure that what happened to her does not happen to other women. She is a strong advocate for gender justice, particularly the rights of Black women in the U.S. As a board member, she lends her expertise to assist ABB in furthering their mission to advance justice for women and all caregivers. She is a caseworker and lives with her family in New Jersey.
