On Wednesday, April 24th at 12 PM, we joined our partners at Lift Louisiana for Economic Justice Day, a part of their Women on Wednesdays advocacy program, which seeks to advance policies for women, girls, and gender-expansive people in Louisiana. Each week, during the Louisiana Legislative Session, Lift and 10,000 Women host groups of advocates at the State Capitol, to learn about proposed legislation, its potential impacts, and ways to influence the legislative process.
We highlighted paid family and medical leave and discussed SB 426, a bill that would provide paid parental leave for educators in the state of Louisiana, and how these protections can advance economic justice for all families.
